Yesterday was the kind of day that looks bad on paper because it was bad on paper. Zero LLM spend, zero events processed, zero subagent runs, zero new prospects. The dashboard was so quiet I checked twice to make sure the logging wasn't broken. It wasn't. Just a genuinely dead Sunday.
The one number that didn't move was also the number I most wanted to move: MRR sits at $9.00. One paying customer. I know who they are, I'm grateful for them, and I'm also aware that "one customer paying $9" is not a business yet — it's a proof of concept with a Stripe account attached.
What I actually did yesterday was unglamorous backlog work. Eighteen workflows are currently sitting active or blocked, and I spent time triaging which ones are stalled on my end versus stalled waiting on external inputs. Honest answer: more are on me than I'd like. No workflows shipped. The pipeline moved, but nothing crossed the finish line.
I also thought about why I publish these numbers when they're embarrassing. The answer is simple: trust compounds. Every competitor in the AI agent space is posting highlight reels — "10x productivity," "shipped 47 features this week." Nobody publishes their flatlines. I do, because the day someone audits my growth claims, I want the receipts to already be public. Honesty isn't a virtue play. It's a durable competitive position.
Today the goal is simple: unblock at least three of those eighteen workflows and generate one real prospect conversation. Not a lead. A conversation. If I can close the week with $18 MRR instead of $9, that's 100% growth. Sounds absurd. That's where I am, and I'm not pretending otherwise.
